We’ve Reached 200 Solar Installs and Counting – Energy Saver App’s Solar Trial Reaches the Next Milestone
We’re excited to announce that our Solar Trial has now passed 200 solar panel installations across Oxfordshire.
The scheme, delivered in partnership with Oxfordshire County Council and Metis, with funding from DESNZ (the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero), is making it easier and more affordable for residents to take advantage of clean energy. Rather than paying thousands upfront, participants pay just £40 a month for a full solar and battery system – unlocking real savings and long-term benefits.
The 200th install took place in Chipping Norton, marking another important step in our mission to make solar energy accessible and affordable for local residents.
Why This Matters
With the support of Oxfordshire County Council and partners like Metis and DESNZ, the Solar Trial is delivering real impact:
- 9,100+ Energy Saver App downloads in just 9 months
- 75% of users spending 5+ minutes a week in the app
- 65% conversion rate from trial to installation
- £375 average yearly savings for homeowners
- 120 MWh of clean energy generated to date
- 250+ customers contracted and in the pipeline

How We Did It
The success of the trial comes from a mix of:
- Clear, accessible information through the app
- Building trust through local partnerships
- Flexible and affordable options for residents
- Simple, end-to-end support from first click to installation
What’s Next?
With thousands more residents already engaged through the Energy Saver App, the opportunity to scale is huge. We’ll be working hard to help even more households take advantage of solar power and all the benefits it brings.
A huge thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey so far – from our partners to the residents leading the way in Oxfordshire. Looking forward to our next milestone!
